A warm welcome to St. Joseph’s Primary Catholic Voluntary Academy.

Welcome to our Outstanding school! My name is Mrs Alison Toward and I am proud to be Head teacher at St. Joseph’s. Our website aims to provide you with a clear picture of who we are and lets you see the wonderful things that happen at St. Joseph every day.

Our school became part of Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust on Wednesday 1st October 2014, along with St. Bede's Marske and St. Paulinus, Guisborough. This followed a period of consultation culminating in the signing of the Funding Agreement by the Secretary of State for Education.

We were delighted to be joined by Sacred Heart Secondary School and St Benedict’s Primary School, Redcar on 1st September 2015. We work together to ensure that we continue with our reputation for high standards and innovation in Catholic Education

We serve the parishes of St Joseph and St Cuthbert’s, Loftus, St Anthony’s, Brotton and Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Staithes.

Our mission; ‘Christ be our light, in life, love and learning’ is central to all we do and our high expectations, relationships, good standards and practices are rooted in this mission.

As a Roman Catholic School, our mission is to educate each child as a whole person. Our vision is to be a fully inclusive school offering the best opportunities for learning and self-development.

St. Joseph’s has a distinctive caring ethos which is rooted in the Gospel values in which we believe. We are a family school and are very proud of our strong Catholic ethos. We nurture children through their journeys of faith.

Our SATS results have been consistently high and we work incredibly hard to provide the children in their care with the best possible academic education. We have a very enthusiastic, hardworking staff team who are dedicated to supporting children in all aspects of their development. All members of our school community ensure that the children who come to us have a happy and productive education and that their parents will feel valued partners in their children’s learning.

We provide a nurturing environment for all children and welcome all children.

Please browse around our new website and see how our wonderful staff, parents, governors and children work together to develop children’s gifts and talents and to instil good morals and values that prepare our children to be lifelong learners all of which contributed to our recent Ofsted report in September 2017 where we were found to be an outstanding school!
